As many of you may know, I recently had a stroke, I received a ride in the county ambulance and arrived at the E.R. Of a local Catholic hospital in our city.

The Doctor in the Emergency room was young and gave the impression she was in charge because, after all, she gets to play God and make all the decisions. That was the first red flag.

Next, a voice beyond the curtain advised me I was Diabetic and had heart problems and Kidneys were at risk. There was no mention of hypertension. Diagnosis without a test No blood, no Urinalysis, no cat scan, nothing!   Red flag number two went up.

In my state of vomiting and chronic dizziness, I was not able to argue, except that I just had to pee! After consistently asking for aid to a bathroom or a bedpan, anything would do, but,  my requests were ignored. I had to urinate and it was becoming distressful!

Between my pleadings to use the bathroom, I answered questions like religion, allergies, addictions, etc.

After what I felt was close to one hour, a nurse came in and inserted a catheter.  This was their answer to assisting a patient, I suppose.

The E.R. The doctor decided to give Valium after my husband told her I had low tolerance. She then decided to administer fifty milligrams of Benadryl also, My husband advised her I would be asleep if she did that and she just ignored him. I was under in two minutes and remained semi-conscious for five days.

They finally diagnosed me as having had a stroke after they did a cat scan several hours later. The hospital had my husband go to admittance while they did my car scan, so, two different sources advised them of my low tolerance to medications or any type of drugs.

The red flags in the Emergency room were more than enough to show this hospital was incompetent.
